Anderson House Teaching Survey 2007

We like:

Active involvement
Physical movement
Friendly, happy atmosphere
Use of technology
Group interaction
Variety
Enthusiasm
Encouragement
Enjoying a laugh
Teachers who relate to boys
Innovative teaching
Class control
Colour in the classroom

We hate:

Dictation
Silent work
Favouritism
Lots of homework
Copying from the board
Too much teacher talk
Punishment through drills
Teachers late to class
Shouting
Put-downs

TOO true anderson too true we hate dictation

I agree with most of what anderson house has said. If class is boring then the students will not concentrate. I would definately sacrifise 5 minutes to do a fun activity to get the class's attention.

i think that if the classroom is to boring and regimented the children do not take in as much as they could. but if the teacher was to play a fun activity to get the boys switched on, then they will take in the information alot better than they would if they were sitting there board out of their wits.

I agree with the opinions of Mr.Anderson and his logical solutions to create classes interactive and interesting.

I think that by doing these things teachers can make the enviroment of the classroom alot more enthusiastic and can get the full potential out of the students.
